Panorama Tower 1 -
A 33 story tower (660,000 sq ft) 403’ tall on Dean Martin Drive in Las Vegas,
designed as a concrete shear walls and post tensioned floor plates,
includes a 4 story pre-cast parking garage (176,000 sq. ft.) and 16,000 sq.
ft. of retail area. Lochsa Engineering provided complete civil and
structural services for this project.
Panorama Tower 2 -

Panorama Tower 3 -
A 44 story tower (620,000 sq ft) 494' tall on Dean Martin Drive in Las
Vegas, designed as a concrete shear walls and post tensioned floor plates,
with a 4 story parking garage (310,000 sq. ft.). Lochsa Engineering
provided complete civil and structural services for this project.
Palms Tower 2 -
This 29 story (393' tall) is the second tower at the Palms Casino and
includes luxury suites and a 2-story high venue area on the top two floors
of the tower. Lochsa provided all civil and structural engineering
services.
Palms Place - A 49
story (737,500 sq ft) 524' high condo tower addition to the popular Palms
hotel and casino on Flamingo road in Las Vegas, designed as a concrete
shear wall building with post-tensioned floor plates, includes a 4 story
garage (245,000 sq ft). Lochsa provided all civil and structural
engineering services.
Palms Concert Venue
- A 2,000 seat concert facility for the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las
Vegas, designed with an 18,000 sq. ft. ballroom/convention center on top of
the venue, the design encompasses a mix of concrete flat plate, with
cast-in-place seating risers and long span structural steel trusses. Lochsa
provided all civil and structural engineering services.
Planet Hollywood LV,
Lochsa Engineering has done several interior and exterior remodels both
structural and civil to convert the Aladdin hotel and casino into the Plant
Hollywood Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
Blue Chip Casino -
This addition in Michigan City, Indiana includes a 2-story structural steel
link between the existing land based support building and the new floating
barge casino, along with new mooring support for the casino barge. Lochsa
provided the structural engineering.
Resorts Casino and Hotel
Atlantic City, New Jersey; This 30 story tower addition was
designed using the "Filigree Wide Slab" structural system, with a
2-story 36,000 sq. ft. structural steel low-rise, that includes a second
story bridge to the new loading dock. Structural engineering services were
provided by Lochsa.
San Manuel Casino and
Bingo Hall - This five level 700,000 sq. ft. structural steel
building with Special Moment Resisting Frames also featured 180-foot truss
spans over the casino and bingo hall. Lochsa Engineering structurally
engineered this project located in southern California.
Hoggard Elementary School
- This addition of 12,000 sq. ft. was CMU bearing wall construction with
special arched open web joist roof system.

T.I. (Treasure Island) - Glass
Chandelier,
The next time you walk through
the north casino entrance at T.I., look up, the 18-foot diameter frosted
glass (3/4" thick) chandelier supported off only 12 wires to make it
appear to be floating, was designed by Lochsa Structural.
Westin Convention Center
- This 20,000 sq. ft convention center has surface parking located under a
second level concrete convention center post-tensioned floor slab with a
structural steel roof. The challenge for the civil and structural engineers
at Lochsa was to provide column locations that did not disturb the existing
parking lot and loading dock that were to remain.
Congregation Ner Tamid
is a new Sanctuary with a 2-story private school classroom adjacent to it.
The construction of this 65,000 sq. ft. addition is concrete tilt-up walls
with composite floors and structural steel roof. Structural design was
provided by Lochsa.
Delta Downs Race Track
Casino - This addition in Vinton, Louisiana (Lake Charles) is a
10-story tower plus 72,000 sq. ft. of low rise. The tower construction is
CMU bearing walls with hollow core plank floors with a structural steel
low-rise and Event Center done is three phases.
JBA Office Building
- This seemed like any other office building but this 25,800 sq. ft. CMU
bearing wall building with open web joist roof, was anything but. Many of
the architectural features on this building are accuracy exposed structural
steel elements. The coordination and design of these elements make for an
interesting open structure look to the building. Lochsa provided both the
civil and structural design.

Caesars Forum Expansion –
This is the third Expansion to
the ever popular shopping mall at Caesars Palace, this 4-story addition, 320,000
sq. ft., features a three-story open atrium entrance as you walk in off the
strip with 2 pair of helical escalators to get you to the third floor. A
built-up helical box beam under the center of the escalator provides the
structural support. The structural design of these box beams and the
4-story addition was provided by Lochsa.
Icon Condo Towers
- Two 49 story towers (totaling 987,000 sq ft) 538' tall Concrete /
post-tensioned / shear wall construction, with 5 story parking garage
(totaling 502,000 sq ft.) Concrete / post-tensioned floors and shear wall
construction, and a 2 story retail area (22,000 sq ft) designed using
structural steel.
Post Hole Office Complex
Buildings A and B - This complex consists of two one story concrete
tilt-up buildings totaling 60,000 sq. ft. with open web joist roofs that
has become the offices for Lochsa Engineering and Surveying in Las Vegas.
"The Curve"
- Is a complex that when built out will have three high-rise condo towers
with parking garages and 15 one or 2 story retail / office buildings in
southwest Las Vegas.

structural steel braced frame buildings with composite designed floors
and open web joist roofs.
Encore at Wynn -
This 50-story (2,835,000 sq ft) 654' tall tower will be the second tower at
the luxury resort located on the Las Vegas Strip, it has a concrete shear
wall design with post-tensioned floor plates.
Fry's Electronics
- 150,000 sq. ft. of concrete tilt-up building with 36' high panels, this
building was big enough that they built a 2,600 sq. ft. home inside of it
to demonstrate their sound systems. Lochsa Provided the design for both
structures.
Pinnacle Condo -
Twin 33 story towers (1,009,000 sq ft) 393' tall Concrete shear wall
buildings with post tensioned floor plates, with 5 level parking garage
(234,000 sq ft.) Concrete shear wall buildings with post tensioned floor
plates, with 2- story retail building (54,000 sq ft) Structural steel
construction
916 Mixed-use project
- Lochsa Engineering of Idaho is currently beginning design for this 12
story, post tensioned concrete building. The 324,000 SF project consist of
two levels of underground parking, 12 stories of condo's, retail and
townhouse units.
St. Rose & Jefferies
condo's - Lochsa Engineering of Idaho has completed schematic
Design for this 14 story, post tensioned concrete building. This project
consists of 500,000 SF of condos and retail along with 150,000 SF of
underground parking, in Las Vegas, Nevada.Bella plaza Office building -
Lochsa Engineering of Idaho is currently finalizing the construction
documents for this six story, steel framed building. This 100,000 SF
project will utilize a braced frame lateral elevator/stair core in place of
the conventional concrete core for an economical design.
Capital terrace mixed use
project - Lochsa Engineering of Idaho is currently designing the
construction documents for this six-story addition over the existing
two-story structure. The original building was designed for a four-story
addition and Lochsa is retrofitting the existing structural members to
accommodate the current six-story addition.
Rocky Mountain High School
in Meridian Idaho - Lochsa Engineering is currently finalizing the
construction documents for this two-story 270,000 sq. ft. school. The
school will be the largest high school in the state of Idaho. A combination
of traditional masonry materials with exposed architectural concrete
elements makes a unique architectural statement.
Idaho Governor's Residence
in Boise, Idaho - Lochsa Engineering is currently designing this
major addition/remodel for the historic Simplot house. The project includes
challenges with the site due to the "hill top" terrain that
requires careful construction considerations.
Paradigm condos &
garage - Lochsa Engineering is currently designing on this three
level wood framed building over a concrete "podium" slab, located
in Boise, Idaho. The foundation utilizes Geo-Piers to reduce the cost of
over excavating the soil on the site.
Mammoth lakes mixed use
garage project - Lochsa Engineering is designing this four story
mixed use project. This project has some challenges due to the high snow
loads and high seismic area of Mammoth Lakes, Idaho. This two level
concrete parking garage will support the upper wood framed apartment
building.
Boise Watershed -
Lochsa Engineering of Idaho designed this six-story observation tower along
with a single story interpretative center. The tower is a "space
frame" to maximize the amount of view available around the perimeter
of the building.
Plaza 121 - Lochsa
Engineering of Idaho designed the retrofit and remodel work for this six
story office building. The existing building was modeled and analyzed for
current earthquake (seismic) and wind force standards.
Red hawk mixed use
- Located in Ketchum, Idaho Lochsa designed this four story mixed use
project of approximately 75,000 SF. The lower level concrete parking garage
will support the upper steel framed retail/apartment building.
Hometown Toyota in
Ontario, Oregon - Lochsa Engineering of Idaho handled all the
construction administration on this 23,500 SF one story, steel and concrete
masonry framed building. Construction documents were finalized in the
summer of 2005. The project was a design build/fast track type contract
that included coordination with the facilities', i.e. Toyota, in house
engineers/architects on elements that were incorporated into the final
design.
Technical
Education Center at Meridian Idaho High School - Lochsa Engineering
designed this one story structure that will be framed out of masonry walls
with steel roof framing members. Several shop areas will be constructed
with long span open web steel trusses.
