international Casino
Atlantic City, New
Jersey
This 30-story tower addition was designed using the “Filigree Wide Slab”
structural system, with a 2-story, 36,000 sq. ft. structural steel low-rise,
which includes a second story bridge to the new loading dock.
Situated on 11 acres of land overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Atlantic
City, N.J. Originally constructed in the 1920s, the casino was a twin tower
structure. Having undergone various renovations throughout the years, the
owner recently demolished one of the original towers and constructed a new,
state-of-the-art hotel tower in its place.
The final phase of the project was to create a concourse between the
original and new tower, allowing customers easy access to all casino
services. It was necessary to build the concourse on an incline because the
lobbies of the two towers were at different elevations
