Hard Rock Las Vegas South Garage

Lochsa Engineering provided structural engineering design and construction services for the recent Hard Rock Hotel and Casino expansion in Las Vegas.  The expansion included a new tower with 350 new guestrooms, the addition of more than two acres to the already famed Beach Club and Pool, a luxurious Spa facility, expanded Sports Book, a brand new Hard Rock Hotel Merchandise Store, four new restaurants and an 8,000 square foot underground nightclub for "The Joint,” the Hotel and Casino’s famed concert hall.  The pool and Beach Club area has tripled in size and features ocean-like pools, sandy beaches, private cabanas, an in-pool casino and poolside bar.  Music floods the pool area (even underwater).

To accommodate the added guest rooms and expanded facilities Lochsa Engineering designed an eight-story, 92-foot tall 1,440-stall precast concrete parking garage which complements both the new towers and the existing facade with horizontal louvers and colorful, energetic graphics which dynamically engage the traffic along Harmon Avenue.  The 561,390 square foot garage is supported on concrete spread footings and has a building footprint of roughly 290 feet x 250 feet.  The seismic force resisting system consists of reinforced concrete shear walls.
