Harmon Retail Center

The Harmon Retail Center is a 110,000 square foot retail development in a three story building located at the intersection of Harmon Boulevard at Las Vegas Boulevard. The project is unique in that access to the pedestrians is achieved not only from the ground level but by offering direct access from the adjacent pedestrian bridges over the adjacent roadways.

Lochsa Engineering was responsible for providing the traffic planning services for the project to address traffic issues such as pedestrians, parking, and site lines. Due to the limited parking available, Lochsa Engineering developed a parking management scheme to maximize parking usage. Eventually the project shall have a variety of video displays on its façade; as such Lochsa Engineering analyzed site lines to limit the location of the displays on the building so that it would not interfere with the traffic signal head visibility.

Flood control design efforts included the hydrologic modeling of the watershed impacting the site, determination of the design storm flow depth within the perimeter streets, and flood protecting the structure against the flows.
