St. Luke's Medical Plaza

Lochsa Engineering provided the Design/Build portion for this new 110,000 SF, three story medical  plaza  located on a 35 acre mixed use campus.The structural steel building contains concrete slab on deck floors and two concrete core stair towers for lateral resistance. Due to a requests for minimal slab cracking , the slab on deck proved challenging but minimal cracking was achieved due to detailed reinforcing and coordinated installation efforts.The mechanical penthouse was stabilized with a slab on deck system and braced frame lateral design.   Communication and coordination between the owners, architects, contractors, and Lochsa Engineering led to a successful project.

To further advance construction and design coordination, the building was modeled using Revit. The level of modeling ranged between 300 and 400 according to BIM specification. Revit was also used to create the 2D construction drawings and a digital representation rendering that won Boise Revit Users Group (BoiRUG) "Most Realistic" award.
