Overview of Structural Engineering Services:
Our qualified and dedicated staff of structural engineers, designers
and drafters work on a wide variety of interesting and challenging
projects, from the tenant improvement at the Rum Jungle bar at Mandalay
Bay, where we designed the bar top as a dance floor for the in house dancers,
to the newly opened Wynn Resort Encore 52 story curved tower on the Las Vegas
Strip and the multilevel 1.8 million square foot convention center at
Mandalay Bay that includes a 2 story loading dock that can accommodate 36
tractor trailer rigs at the same time and has clear span trusses 240 foot
long. Our structural engineers provide consultation before designs begins
to help select the best type of system for your project. During the
structural analysis and design of the project we are conscientious of the
quality and the economics of the design. During construction our staff
works with the contractor to assist with any field issues that may arise.
We work with the latest structural design software, including RAM
Structural System, ETABS, SAFE, RISA 3D, RAM Concept., RamAdvanse, Staad. We are continuing to
update our software library and always evaluating new software as it
becomes available.
We currently utilize AutoDesk REVIT BIM
(Building Intelligent Modeling) software to produce our construction
documents. Using REVIT BIM
software allows us to collaborate more efficiently with the entire design
team thus creating a better-coordinated set of design documents.

Lochsa Engineering’s structural department designs projects using
all four of the major structural materials, concrete, steel, masonry and
wood. In concrete we have experience with cast-in-place, post-tensioned,
pre-cast and pre-stressed design, from 50 story towers to 11 story-parking
garages. Our structural steel experience includes 240 foot trusses in the
1.8 million square foot convention center at Mandalay Bay, special moment
resisting lateral frames, helical box beams supporting four helical
escalators at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace and a 70 foot box beam
horseshoe shaped bridge cantilevered over the edge of the Grand Canyon in
Arizona.
