Lochsa designed this new school building using masonry walls and steel joists in the gym and wood bearing walls with pre-manufactured wood trusses for the roof. The completed project consisted of 8 classrooms, a library/media center, and full size gym.
The use of BIM allows our entire project team to streamline the design and document work flows that will ultimately result in a more functional building. By implementing these techniques in the design phase, unnecessary rework can be eliminated during construction. This design process helps control the cost and schedule of the project, with opening communication lines and introducing a more collaborative environment.
