Mr. Karren has practiced structural engineering in Utah since 1981 and in Nevada since 1989. Mr. Karren joined Lochsa Engineering in 1996. He has worked on structural engineering projects encompassing all four major material types: steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.

He has helped develop and design new structural steel systems that are beginning to be used in the United States. Mr. Karren has designed or supervised the design of numerous structures including schools, churches, office buildings, retail buildings, parking garages, amusement rides, convention centers, tenant improvements, hotels and casinos.
